A campaign volunteer is accusing 9th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Brandon Hood of sexual harassment. Hood is one of five Democrats running for the District 9 seat.

In a Facebook statement Tuesday, volunteer Sarah Conley says Hood publicly harassed her during a campaign meeting in his home around 1 a.m. on May 25.

According to the post, when asked to stop, he threw and broke a chair and was verbally aggressive.

Both his campaign manager, Glitz Litzenberg, and campaign organizer, Alex Goodlad, have stepped down from their positions. Goodlad says in a Facebook statement both he and Litzenberg witnessed the alleged harassment. They have both asked Hood to end his campaign.

Conley’s statement on Facebook says she filed a police report Tuesday.

In a later Facebook post, she says she won’t be making further comments and wants the Bloomington Police Department to be able to investigate the incident unimpeded.

Conley’s post has spurred more people to share comments or stories of inappropriate behavior from Hood in the past.

Hood has not responded to request for comment at this time, and his campaign website and Facebook pages are still up.
