Indiana voters are still casting ballots today in primaries for local, state and federal offices.
Hoosiers did not need a reason to cast mail-in ballots in the June 2 nd primary. The original date of May 5 th was pushed back by the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s our duty, there is no other option. It matters and it matters so much more now that we see a pandemic and police brutality,” says Bloomington resident Jack Hanchett, who voted in person.
Hanchett says there were no long lines at his polling location at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
As of 1:00 p.m. Tuesday 3,250 people voted in person in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Clerk's Office. The deadline to turn in or mail in ballots was noon Tuesday.
Polls close at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
