A man died after being shot at a Bloomington gas station early Sunday, police said.

An unidentified 39-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, the Bloomington Police Dept. said in a statement Sunday.

The statement said the man was pronounced dead at a hospital after police attempted lifesaving measures at the scene.

The shooting occurred at the Circle S gas station on Walnut St, it said.

Police said the suspect fled before officers arrived and has not been located.

“It is believed that all involved parties knew one-another and this was not a random act of violence,” the statement said. “Detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting and no further information is available at this time.”
