The Indiana State Department of Health announced Monday that 13 more Indiana residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the state’s confirmed deaths to 2,363.
The state agency has also recorded 190 fatalities considered coronavirus-related by doctors but without confirmation of the illness from test results. Those deaths give Indiana 2,553 confirmed or presumed COVID-19 deaths.
The state health department also said Monday that 277 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing Indiana’s total confirmed cases to 42,633.
Monday's numbers show that 11.5% of the state's 2,469 existing intensive care unit (ICU) beds are currently being used by patients with COVID-19-related illnesses, while 38.1% are still available.
And as of noon Monday, 3.6% of the state's 2,960 total ventilators are being used by COVID-19 patients, while 81.4% are still available.
Monroe County's total COVID-19 case number rose by one to 209, and the county death toll remains the same at 26. Data provided shows 6,259 Monroe County residents have been tested.
