Brown County Planning To Support Music Center Through COVID Pandemic

Local officials are making plans to pay for additional Brown County Music Center expenses.

The center was turning a profit before the coronavirus pandemic shuttered venues and pushed governments to implement stay at home orders.

Diana Biddle, a music center board member and Brown County Commissioner, says the venue has received guidance from promoter Live Nation on how to reopen, but capacity will be limited.

Even with the limited capacity, it is likely the county will be on the hook for additional money with the center closed.

"The management group and the county will be having a discussion with the lender just to figure out what our options are at this point," Biddle says.

Many of the center’s shows have been rescheduled, and she insists the center is exploring new ways to bring in revenue amid the pandemic.

The Brown County Music Center did not respond to a request for comment.
