The Indiana State Parks have been celebrating their centennial this year, but those events will wrap up over the weekend.
December 16 is the official birthday, marking the date in 1916 that the parks system was dedicated as a way to commemorate 100 years of statehood.
Several centennial feature events are scheduled throughout the weekend and are listed below. Each of the first 25 participants will receive a commemorative centennial pin.
If you spend time at a park this weekend but don't make it to one of the centennial events, you could win an annual pass for 2017 by sharing your experience on social media!
Take a photo with one of the centennial banner signs at a park entrance, inn, office or nature center and post it on the State Parks Facebook page with the tag #Happy100INStateParks. And, if you include a short happy birthday message you'll be entered to win a souvenir centennial coin.
