College Mall Won't Fine Stores For Closing on Thanksgiving

A Facebook post saying Simon Malls will fine stores $1,100 for each hour they remain closed on Thanksgiving went viral this week.

But College Mall Manager Erika Hickman says the rumor is not true.

"College mall does not fine or penalize tenants who choose not to open on Thanksgiving," Hickman says.

None of the Simon Mall properties, which includes College Mall, will fine stores for remaining closed on the holiday.

College Mall will be open from 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving until 1 a.m. They will reopen on Black Friday at 6 a.m. Some of the larger stories, such as those with independent entrances, will remain open all night on Thursday, so Hickman says customers should call stores to check their hours.
