The last remaining historic train depot in Kokomo is being rehabilitated. The city purchased the dilapidated train station for $45,000 – a bargain Mayor Greg Goodnight says for what the city envisions that area will become.
"It's in a strategic location, it's a beautiful building, hasn't been taken care of liked we would have liked, but we're going to refurbish it." Goodnight says. "At least begin with the city to decide what the final usage will be."
Goodnight says he hopes the area will be a hub for Nickel Plate Trail that will run alongside the depot and be completed by the end of the year.
