Incumbent Milo Smith, R-Columbus, defeated Democrat Zack Ellison for Indiana State House District 59.
Smith earned 59.6 percent of the vote compared to Ellison's 40.4 percent.
Smith has served in the Indiana House of Representatives since 2006.
He is the chairman of the Elections and Apportionment Committee and serves on the Select Committee on Government Reduction and the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.
He is a Level I and II assessor-appraiser and is the former commissioner of Columbus Municipal Airport.
House District 59 consists of much of Bartholomew County in Central Indiana.
