Indiana University is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the film "Kinsey," which details the life of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey.
In 1947, Kinsey founded the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University, which was later renamed the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction.
A panel of experts from the Kinsey Institute spoke today at the IU Cinema, ahead of a screening of a film tonight at 7 p.m.
Kinsey Institute Director of Communications Jennifer Bass says the event is about remembering and honoring Alfred Kinsey's legacy.
"Everybody has a different opinion of what he did," Bass says. "To me it is the idea of respecting the variation of human beings and understanding that we aren't all the same in the way we live our live and what we look like and who we're attracted to and who we are."
The film "Kinsey" debuted in the U.S. 10 years ago this week with a limited release on Nov. 12, 2004.
