The Honda manufacturing plant in Greensburg began producing a new gas-electric hybrid car Monday. The Greensburg plant is the exclusive manufacturer of the new 2013 Acura ILX.
The model has both gasoline and gas-electric hybrid options. Honda has not said how many of the cars it plans on making each year, but last year, the plant hired a thousand workers and doubled its capacity to prepare for the increase in production.
