The Indiana War Memorials Commission will shut down the four fountains it maintain in downtown Indianapolis in an effort to conserve water in light of the watering ban in effect in Marion County.
Officials said each fountain will only run for approximately one hour per day to maintain water quality.
Shutting down the fountains is a voluntary move on the Commission's part because the fountains are located on state property, which is exempt from the ban.
