Indiana University's Marching Hundred performed a pre-game demonstration for fans Saturday at the John Mellencamp Pavilion before their appearance at Super Bowl XLVI.
Performing in full dress, the presentation acted as a sneak peak for fans of the famed marching band. The Marching Hundred will perform before the Super Bowl begins for fans already seated at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Director of Athletic Bands and Professor of Music David C. Woodley called the performance a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
"It's something I don't think that I would have ever have thought we would ever do," said Woodley. "Even with the game in Indianapolis it's something you wouldn't even think about."
Saxophonist Kristina LaMarca is also very enthusiastic about the Marching Hundred's upcoming performance.
"It's really an exciting time to be able to represent our university, the school of music, and our community," said LaMarca. "It's actually been really exciting, because it's a chance for our band members to all come back again after kind of being away for a little while, kind of have one last crack at our season."
