U.S. Marshals Partner With Sheriffs To Catch Sex Offenders

U.S. Marshals are partnering with Indiana Sheriffs to locate 40 unregistered sex offenders in Central Indiana.

According to a Morgan County Sheriff's Office Investigator Don Abel, the U.S. Marshal's Office holds a blitz-like drive each year to track down sex offenders who are not on the list but should be.

"We have one person who we have a warrant out for, it's been out for almost 3 years now and no one has been able to find this individual," he says. "So, the marshals are going to do another drive, they do it once a year, and we're going to see if we can find the individual."

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office has one outstanding warrant for a sex offender named Bonnie Carr who was convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor 3 years ago but has yet to register.
