An anti-smoking group in Indianapolis is pushing for a tougher smoking ban in the city before Super Bowl visitors come to town.
Lindsay Grace with Smoke Free Indy says they feel a tougher smoking ban has a good chance of being passed, and they are working with the city-county council and the mayor‘s office to make sure that happens. Grace says the hope is to get a ban in place before the Super Bowl.
"We really want to make sure that when the visitors are here, that they are protected and don‘t want to have happen what happened when the big ten tournament was in town," she says. "We had these visitors who were really surprised that you could still smoke in a city like Indianapolis."
Grace says they will begin working with bars and other businesses affected by the ban early to make sure they are ready when visitors come to town for the big game in February
