The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team engineered a New Year's Eve upset, 74-70, over the Ohio State Buckeyes at Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers, currently ranked 13th in the Associated Press poll, beat the second-ranked Buckeyes three weeks after knocking off #1 Kentucky. This marked the first time in the history of the program that the Hoosiers defeated the first- and second-ranked basketball teams in the same season.
IU was down for much of the first half, but garnered a one-point lead by halftime. The game's second half was marked by eight ties and ten lead changes. Leading scorers for the Hoosiers were guards Jordan Hulls and Victor Oladipo, with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
The Hoosiers, now 13-1, are off to their strongest start since their 1975-76 championship season.
