The owners of the Nashville Opry House have agreed to refund ticketholders for the shows that were cancelled after the theater burned down in a fire two years ago. The Indiana Attorney General's office filed a complaint against Nashville Enterprises and Attorney General Greg Zoeller says his office and the company settled out of court.
"Over a year it took to get 100 percent refund, that's essentially what we were asking," Zoeller says. "We were prepared to go to court. We had the complaint filed. There's now been a full settlement."
The company must pay $26,500 to 159 ticketholders, but Zoeller says that doesn't fully make up for the loss.
"It's really something that I think all the people that love going to Brown County kind of miss going to the Little Opry. It's something we won't be able to replace that but I think it's important that we replace the consumers the funds that they purchased tickets. It's only fair that they get a refund," he says.
Investigators said the 2009 fire was started intentionally but no arrests have been made.
