Teens Facing Felony Charges For Making Threats To Paoli Schools

Indiana State Police arrested a 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds for allegedly threatening to cause harm at Paoli schools.

The incident stems back to Thursday, when someone reported an alarming social media post to police. The post made threats to Paoli schools. After a second post went online, the Paoli School Corporation canceled classes on Friday as a precaution.

State Police say they traced the threats back to three teens, who they arrested for their alleged roles in the incident. They're each facing a charge of intimidation, which is a Level 6 felony.

Police aren't saying how they determined the teens were involved in the threats, but caution others that such messages will be taken seriously.

"Engaging in communication of 'anonymous' threats can have lifelong consequences for people arrested and prosecuted for such times," State Police say in a press release. "And as demonstrated by this investigation, nothing on the Internet is ever truly 'anonymous.'"
