A heat advisory takes effect Friday afternoon until Saturday night.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting temperatures will reach 95 degrees with heat index values as high as 110 degrees.
Officials are reminding everyone to keep an eye on children, the elderly, pets and those without air conditioning. Outside workers should take frequent breaks.
The high temperatures plus the humidity increases the chances of heat illness.
If someone is experiencing symptoms of heat stroke, dial 911 for help.
