Suspended All-Conference Tight End Back On Indiana Football Team

Indiana’s record-breaking tight end who was arrested in February is back with the team.

IU head football coach Tom Allen suspended redshirt junior Peyton Hendershot after he was charged with entering the apartment of a former girlfriend without her permission. He was also accused of grabbing and shoving the woman.

Allen said Hendershot completed his team-sanctioned discipline and is back on campus.

“He's been completely cleared and he is back with the team now fully as he completed all the things that he was asked to do,” Allen said.

Allen said Hendershot closed his matter with the judicial system and has been cleared by a campus committee that decides when a student-athlete is reinstated to their team.

Last week the Big Ten announced teams will only compete against conference opponents.

The Hoosiers football team is scheduled to open its season on the road at Wisconsin September 4 th.
