A Bloomington Transit employee who works within the maintenance department has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a city press release.
The city said the individual began feeling symptoms on Sunday, July 12 and has not been to work since Saturday, July 11.
An internal contact tracing analysis was completed this week that shows no other employees were exposed nor were any members of the public.
The city said the employee's work area, equipment used and vehicles used are being disinfected to stop any possible spread.
This is the first reported COVID-19 diagnosis within Bloomington Transit's staff. So far, five city employees have received positive tests since the pandemic began.
