The Indiana State Department of Health confirmed another 747 new positive cases today along with eight additional deaths. These numbers bring the statewide totals to 54,813 positive cases and 2,610 deaths. More than 800 Hoosiers are still hospitalized after the large spike earlier this week.
Monroe County reported 17 new positive tests but continued its 22-day streak of zero deaths bringing the county totals to 417 positive cases and 28 deaths.
Indiana has seen 604,635 Hoosiers tested, but these numbers fall short of what OptumServe initially touted.
The number of tests that return positive is 9.1%
The state faced a $900 million hole in its fiscal year due to COVID-19 but plans to make up for the loss by collecting taxes filed later than usual and leaving vacant positions.
