A sixth City of Bloomington employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
A second CBU Transmission and Distribution employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the city reported Monday in an emailed statement.
According to the statement, the employee received the positive test result over the weekend after self-isolating since Wednesday, July 15 — two days after the first CBU employee tested positive.
“The employee has been placed on paid leave to recover,” the statement said. “Also per CDC guidelines, the facilities, vehicles, and equipment that the employee came into contact with are being thoroughly decontaminated.”
The city does not believe the public was put at risk because the employee rarely interacts with members of the public in the course of their work.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported 55 new positive cases in Monroe County this weekend. Monday saw an additional 12 cases bringing the county total to 484.
