Biddle Hotel Will House IU Students This Year

The Biddle Hotel at the Indiana Memorial Union will lease out rooms to students for the fall semester.

The application period opened Tuesday.

“We expect a lot fewer travelers, there won’t be conferences hosted here the way they normally are on campus,” said IMU Director Hank Walter.

Walter said the union does not receive funding from the state or Indiana University so it needs to raise its own revenue.

“To bring in revenue to cover our expenses including covering payroll for the staff who work in the hotel, as well as other parts of the union.”

Freshmen will not be allowed to live in the Biddle since the facility doesn't offer residential services offered at residence halls.

Rooms range from $14,000 to $17,000 for a full academic year, depending on the size of the room.
