The Indiana State Department of Health reported 763 new positive cases and 14 additional deaths on Wednesday totaling 58,673 positive cases and 2,666 deaths statewide.
Hospitalizations have begun to increase again after a dip this past week. 869 Hoosiers are currently in the hospital with COVID-19-related illnesses. On July 14, hospitalizations spiked to 881 — the highest they’ve been since early June.
The ISDH says 654,413 Hoosiers have been tested, and nine percent of tests return positive.
Monroe County experienced its first COVID-19-related death in almost four weeks causing the death count to rise to 29. The county reported six additional positive cases bringing the total positive case count to 496. Monroe County has conducted 11,879 tests.
Just next door, Greene County officials warn residents of Bloomfield and Solsberry to exercise caution, as the majority of the county’s new COVID-19 infections are concentrated in the two communities.
