After a record-setting week, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 561 new positive cases and three new deaths, increasing the state’s total to 62,907 confirmed cases and 2,709 deaths. Last week, Indiana had two record-setting days in a row as well as its first day with over 1,000 positive cases.
The number of tests conducted also dipped to 6,595 tests reported totaling 707,791 tested across the state.
Previous weeks have seen similar data of lower numbers on Mondays as fewer Hoosiers get tested over the weekends.
Monroe County reported seven new positive cases and zero deaths bringing county totals to 603 positive cases and 29 deaths. Data shows 13,698 tests have been administered in the county.
With fall approaching, many parents continue struggling to decide if their students should return to the classroom.
