A small group of protesters stood outside Monroe County government offices Monday morning holding signs saying “Save Our Students.”
These are parents and teachers who don’t think it’s safe to send Monroe County Community School Corporation students back to school next week.

Former local educator Debbie Fish said there is no reason the school board cannot postpone in-person teaching until the district can make the guidelines safer for students.
"As soon as we send kids back, we are going to have more cases," Fish said. "And it's unclear how they're going to contact trace. How they are going to test. How they are going to be able to close a school or a classroom."
Fish said hundreds of people will be protesting Tuesday night in front of the MCCSC building before the regular school board meeting.
The current district reentry plan calls for school to begin August 5 th.
