The Bloomington Police Department has arrested Kiandre D. Owens, 18, of Brownsburg, and charged him with attempted murder, according to a press release.
BPD responded last night to a report of a woman covered in blood in the 1000 block of West 11 th St. The release said the 18-year-old victim, now in critical care, suffered multiple knife wounds including a deep cut to her neck, a deep cut to her abdomen and several wounds to her head that required emergency surgery.
Police reported that, prior to surgery, the victim named Owens as the attacker. He also had checked into the IU Health Bloomington Hospital Emergency Department for a knife wound.
According to the press release, investigators took Owens into custody and interviewed him after his wound had been treated. Following the interview, Owens was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
This investigation remains ongoing.
