A Black Lives Matter group on Sunday denounced vandalism targeting a mural painted only a week earlier on a major Indianapolis street.

Indy10 Black Lives Matter called the defacement of the BLM mural an example of White supremacy and said its supporters would not be deterred.
“The vandalism of the Indiana mural is yet another example of how white supremacy seeks to disrupt and de-center Black joy,” Indy10 wrote on Twitter.
“We will not be distracted or discouraged by the cowardice of people who feel threatened by Black liberation and its laborers,” the group said.

It also directed people interested in donating to help to restore it to a PayPal account.

Indy10 Black Lives Matter was one of the groups that organized the Indianapolis mural.
Similar murals have been painted across the U.S. Several have been vandalized.
