Bloomington movie lovers will be able to head back to the big screens for the first time in months as the two local AMC movie theaters reopen in coming weeks.
The AMC Classic Bloomington 12 on West Third Street will reopen Aug. 27, while the AMC Classic Bloomington 11 near College Mall will reopen Sep. 3, according to AMC’s website.
The reopening will be part of AMC's nationwide push to bring people back to theaters beginning Aug. 20. The company is touting its 'AMC Safe & Clean' procedures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including a limited concession menu to save patrons time in line and smaller auditorium capacities for social distancing.
AMC will also implement an enhanced cleaning routine throughout operating hours and after closing.
