The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indiana has surpassed 80,000, after the state confirmed hundreds of new cases over the weekend.
The number of tests the state has conducted since the outbreak began also passed the 900,000 mark over the weekend, the Department of Health reported.
On Sunday, Indiana reported 750 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths. It reported 1,096 new positive cases and 15 additional confirmed deaths on Saturday.
The new cases brought Indiana's total case number to 80,415 and the confirmed death toll to 2,924, the Department of Health reported. Health officials say there are another 209 probable deaths for which there is not a positive test on record.
In Monroe County, the total COVID-19 case number rose by 18 to 802 over the weekend, and the county death toll rose by one to 33.
Some 18,724 Monroe County residents have been tested so far, the department said.

The ISDH says it has tested 906,851 people across the state so far. That number includes tests run by the state, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and some private laboratories. The number of tests that return positive is 8.9%.
The ISDH says the "number of tests is provisional and reflects only those reported to ISDH. Numbers should not be characterized as a comprehensive total."
The most recent numbers showed that 11.6% of the state's 2,280 existing ICU beds were being used by patients with COVID-19-related illnesses, while 35.3% were still available.
As of noon Sunday, 3.2% of the state's 2,896 total ventilators were being used by COVID-19 patients, while 81.9% were still available.
The coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people. But for others, especially older people and the infirm, it can cause severe symptoms.
CORRECTION: The Indiana Department of Health reported that 18,724 Monroe County residents had been tested for the virus as of Sunday, not 9,584.
