Seven-day positivity rates continues to drop in Indiana, but new COVID-19 cases reported Thursday pushed both Indiana and Monroe County past milestone numbers.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported 1,164 new positive cases, confirmed between Aug. 7 and Aug. 26 and six new deaths, which occurred between Aug. 23 and Aug. 26. This marks the first time Indiana has reported more than 1,000 positive cases since Aug. 21. These numbers bring Indiana’s total number of positive cases and deaths to 90,504 and 3,047 respectively.
In addition, the state reported 12,339 new individual tests (totaling 1,034,746 Hoosiers tested so far) with a seven-day positivity rate of 6.6%. The positivity rate last Thursday was 7.6%.
ISDH data indicate 882 Hoosiers are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

In Monroe County, the ISDH confirmed another 18 positive cases, increasing the county total to 1,008. The county has tested 26,500 residents with a 2% positivity rate for unique individuals, and the county death total remained the same at 36.
