Recent data show more than 100 current COVID-19 cases among inmates at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute.
The complex, which is composed of the high-security U.S. Penitentiary and the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution plus a satellite camp, houses more than 2,400 male inmates. On Aug. 31, the Federal Bureau of Prisons reported 45 active inmate cases and two active staff cases at FCI and 57 active inmate cases at USP.
In May, USP reported inmate Gregory Phinton Glenn died of the virus after reporting shortness of breath and chest pains.

Just this week, Indiana Army National Guard units were deployed to the Miami Correctional Facility in Bunker Hill to help with staffing shortages due to COVID-19 infections.
In federal prison facilities across the country, there are currently 1,643 inmates and 661 staff members who have confirmed positive COVID-19 test results. In total, 118 federal inmates and two staff members have died from COVID-19.
