Indiana has set another record-high number of COVID-19 cases on its eighth consecutive day with more than 1,000 confirmed cases, according to Indiana State Department of Health.
The ISDH reported Thursday 1,962 new cases confirmed between Oct. 11 and Oct. 14 and 23 new deaths that occurred between Sept. 27 and Oct. 14. The total of 141,212 statewide cases and 3,632 deaths comes a day comes a day after Gov. Eric Holcomb defended his decision to reopen the state and called for Hoosiers to practice “the basics.”
Indiana has administered 2,420,865 tests with a 5.4% seven-day positivity rate, and COVID-19 hospitalizations sit at 1,355.
In Monroe County, ISDH reported 20 new cases, increasing the county total to 3,087 cases. The death toll remained the same at 38.
Monroe County has reported 102,079 tests on 49,523 individuals with a 2% seven-day positivity rate, which is an increase from the 1.6% positivity rate reported Oct. 1.
