Monroe County’s seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate has nearly doubled since the beginning of October.
The county had a seven-day positivity rate of 1.5% on Oct. 1, according to Indiana State Department of Health. As of Monday, the state reported a rate of 2.9%. This is a slight decrease from a 3% rate reported Sunday but comparatively, much lower than when the county positivity rate peaked at 11.8% on Sept. 6.
ISDH reported another 32 positive cases, increasing the county total to 3,194 cases. The death toll remained at 38.
Monroe County has administered 107,204 tests on 50,226 individuals.
Across Indiana, ISDH reported 1,589 new cases from Oct.18 and 23 new deaths that occurred between Sept. 17 and Oct. 18. These numbers bring state totals to 149,166 positive cases and 3,727 deaths. Indiana’s average daily death count has increased from nine to 10 daily deaths throughout September to 16 as of Oct. 12.
The state has conducted 2,533,863 tests with a 6.5% seven-day positivity rate.
