Monroe County election officials say they have been getting lots of questions about early voting in the last couple of weeks.
One common question asked: If someone has requested a mail-in ballot, are they allowed to vote early at Election Central instead?
The short answer is no. If you have requested and received your mail-in ballot, you cannot go into Election Central and cast your vote.
But you can fill out your mail-in ballot and bring it in to Election Central during early voting times, and then you don’t have to wait in line with early voters.
Election officials advise that people who requested a mail-in ballot have until Nov. 2 at noon to bring their ballot for in-person absentee voting.
If they haven’t done so by then, they can bring their ballot into their voting site on Election Day to be voided, and then they can vote in-person.
