The Monroe County Community School corporation is urging parents to make a plan in case the district changes its learning status. The Metric committee – which determines whether students meet online or in person during the pandemic - is meeting today.

Monroe County’s seven-day positivity rate is one of the numbers the committee looks at when deciding the status of school. It’s been going up the past couple weeks and Sunday it hit 10.8 percent.
MCCSC is currently in the yellow phase. Elementary students are meeting in person five days a week while middle and high school students are operating under a hybrid schedule.

If the district moves to the red phase all learning will be virtual.
A number of districts across the state, including all schools in Indianapolis and Marion County have already gone virtual.
