The City is reporting two new COVID-19 positive cases among employees today- bringing the total up to 45.
A Bloomington Transit maintenance employee and Bloomington Fire Department employee both received a positive COVID-19 viral tests on Saturday.
A statement from the office of the mayor says the transit employee started experiencing symptoms December 7 and began isolating on paid leave the next day.
The fire department employee began experiencing mild symptoms December 9, and was tested the same day. The employee had last worked a shift December 7.
The city says an internal contact tracing process conducted following CDC guidelines has determined that neither employee placed coworkers or members of the public at risk of exposure to COVID-19.
Today’s announcement marks the sixth reported COVID-19 diagnosis among Bloomington Transit staff and the eleventh Bloomington Fire Department employee.
