Bloomington’s Redevelopment Commission approved two new contracts Monday night in the next steps of turning over the Bloomington Hospital site.

The commission said yes to a $39,410 contract with SB Friedman Development Associates to complete a financial analysis of the project.

Another $117,342 contract with the company CORE Planning Strategies was also approved to handle project management services.
"We tend to go a little bit higher on our estimates of what we think we're going to anticipate for things like this," city controller Jeff Underwood said. "We always put in extra to manage for those kinds of expenditures."
Underwood said the project budget will be finalized as soon as the master plan of the site is completed.
Deputy Mayor Mick Renneisen said he expects the final master plan to be done sometime this week.
"We’ll [the city] have the infrastructure costs estimate and we can start to roll out to you [redevelopment commssion] what we think are the next logical phases once we start that discussion in January," Renneisen said.
Renneisen said the final price for the project will be ready for review at the next Redevelopment Commission meeting after the holidays on Monday, Jan. 4.
A decision on the future of the existing Kohr Administration Building will also be included in the final master plan.
