Bloomington Police say a deceased man was found on the site of the old Player's Pub building in downtown Bloomington Tuesday morning.
According to a news release from the Bloomington Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of South Walnut Street at around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday after a city utilities worker reported finding an unresponsive man on the vacant lot.
Paramedics determined that the man was deceased but had no signs of visible injury or trauma. Police say investigators believe the man had constructed a makeshift shelter from lumber and scrap metal at the site.
Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields said in an email that an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, and the man's identity, cause and manner of death will not be released until his family has been notified.
