MCCSC: Vaccinated Staff Can Ditch Masks, Student Guidelines To Come

MCCSC employees who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks at work.

Employees must be two weeks past their final COVID vaccination and submit proof of inoculation to their supervisors in order to remove masks inside.

The change is effective immediately, according to a staff memo sent out Tuesday. Those who are not fully vaccinated still need to continue wearing masks.

“Should realities associated with COVID-19 change in a way where public health concerns are increasing, or should our students or staff fail to follow new protocols, these permissions are subject to change,” Superintendent Jeff Hauswald wrote in the memo.

Hauswald also said MCCSC officials are discussing policies for vaccinated students and the upcoming schoolyear.

This story has been corrected with the proper staff memo date.
