City Selects New Assistant Director For The Arts In Economic And Sustainable Development

Bloomington has a new assistant director for the arts in the Economic and Sustainable Development department.

Holly Warren began the job Tuesday as the replacement for Sean Starowitz, who served in the role from 2016 to earlier this year. Warren will lead the city’s arts initiatives, including the John Waldron Arts Center, public arts projects and relationships with community and Indiana University arts organizations, according to a city news release. 

Warren has worked in many roles in arts administration, including facility management, curation, event planning, programming, engagement and development.  Her most recent job was assistant director of events and operations at the University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts. 

Warren’s annual salary will be $56,746.05.

Bob Zaltsberg was editor of The Herald-Times in Bloomington for 33 years before his retirement on Jan. 31, 2019. His career in print journalism spanned 43 years and included reporting, editing and leadership positions in news and sports. He teaches as an adjunct faculty member at the IU Media School. For 20 years, he has been co-host of WFIU's Noon Edition.
