Monroe County
Monroe County confirmed 14 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, down from 17 Monday.
The state dashboard added no new deaths to the county’s total Tuesday. The total since the pandemic began is 201.
The county has been in the yellow advisory for more than a month. Its seven-day positivity rate is up to 3.9 percent from 3.4 percent Monday. The county has confirmed 15,509 cases since the pandemic began.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 66 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 67 Monday. The last time hospitalizations were as low as Friday’s 60 was Aug. 11.
Monroe County’s weekly cases per 100,000 are down to 92 from 111 last week and from 114 two weeks ago.
Indiana
The state recorded 1,440 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 1,054 Monday. The state has reported 1,023,980 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Indiana Department of Health confirmed 47 COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, but added 46 to the total. That brings the total to 16,230.
The state recorded 1,290 hospitalizations Tuesday and 1,297 hospitalizations Monday.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate Tuesday is 7.3 percent, down from 7.4 percent Monday.
