New COVID-19 cases at long term care facilities steady with 106 this week, 108 last week

Monroe County      

Monroe County confirmed 23 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up from 14 Tuesday. 

The state dashboard added one new death to the county’s total Wednesday. The total since the pandemic began is 202. 

The county has been in the yellow advisory for nearly two months. Its seven-day positivity rate is up to 4.5 percent from 3.9 percent Tuesday. The county has confirmed 15,532  cases since the pandemic began.       

In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 58  people are hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 66 Tuesday. The last time hospitalizations were as low as Wednesday was Aug. 8.  

Monroe County’s weekly cases per 100,000 are up to 121 from 92. It’s the first increase per 100,000 the county has recorded since September. 

Indiana           

The state recorded 2,024 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday and 1,440  Tuesday. The state has reported 1,025,957 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.  

The Indiana Department of Health confirmed 53 COVID-19 deaths Wednesday. That brings the total to 16,283.  

The state recorded 1,327 hospitalizations Wednesday and 1,290 hospitalizations Tuesday.  

The state’s seven-day positivity rate Wednesday is up to 7.4 percent, from 7.3 percent Tuesday.  

Long-Term Care Facilities       

The state reported 106  new positive cases among residents at long-term care facilities this week after reporting 108 last week on Wednesday and 113  three weeks ago. 

The state’s total number of confirmed cases among residents is 26,352.   

Twenty-one new resident deaths were confirmed this week. Last week, 15 new resident deaths were counted.  

The total number of resident deaths since the start of the pandemic is 6,563.

The Richland Bean Blossom Health Center: 33  positive resident cases, eight resident deaths, 22 positive staff cases (no change for three weeks)     

Stonecroft Health Campus: 33 positive resident cases, 14 resident deaths, 29 positive staff cases (no change)      

Garden Villa: 73 positive resident cases, 14 resident deaths, 45 positive staff cases (no change for the last six weeks)      

Monroe Place: Fewer than five positive resident cases, fewer than five resident deaths, fewer than five positive staff cases  (no change for the last six weeks)      

Golden Living Center: 57 positive resident cases, 20 resident deaths, 33  positive staff cases (no change for the last four weeks)      

Brookdale: 0 positive resident cases, 0 resident deaths, 0 positive staff cases (no change for the last three weeks- no longer on state map)  

Autumn Hills Alzheimer’s Special Care Center: fewer than five positive resident cases, 0 resident deaths, fewer than five positive staff cases (no change for the last six weeks)      

Bell Trace: fewer than five positive resident cases, 0 resident deaths, 0 positive staff cases (no change for the last six weeks)    

Bloomington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center:  24 positive resident cases, fewer than five resident deaths, seven positive staff cases (no change for the last six weeks)      

Gentry Park: 16  positive resident cases, fewer than five resident deaths, 21 positive staff cases (no change)     

Meadowood Health: 10 positive resident cases, fewer than five resident deaths, 24 positive staff cases (no change for five weeks)      

Hi Jill’s:  fewer than five resident cases, 0 resident deaths, fewer than five positive staff cases (no change) 

Hearthstone: 54 positive resident cases, 15 resident deaths, 39 positive staff cases (no change, no change, +1)
