Monroe County
Monroe County confirmed 12 new COVID-19 cases Monday and 50 on Friday, which was the most recorded last week.
The state dashboard added no new deaths to the county’s total, which is 203.
The county has been in the yellow advisory for nearly two months. Its seven-day positivity rate is 4.8 percent, the same as Friday. The county has confirmed 15,663 cases since the pandemic began.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 46 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 63 Friday. Monday’s count is the lowest recorded since Aug. 7 when the number was 44.
Monroe County’s weekly cases per 100,000 are up to 121 from 92 last week and will be updated Wednesday. Last week was the first increase per 100,000 the county recorded since September.
Indiana
The state recorded 1,140 new COVID-19 cases Monday and 2,358 Friday. The state has reported 1,035,141 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Indiana Department of Health confirmed no COVID-19 deaths Monday but added 19 to the total. That brings the total to 16,355.
The state recorded 1,226 hospitalizations Monday and 1,269 Friday.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate Monday is up to 7.9 percent from 7.6 percent Friday.
