Monroe County
Monroe County confirmed 16 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 12 Monday.
The state dashboard added two new deaths to the county’s total, bringing it to 205. The new deaths occurred between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7.
The county has been in the yellow advisory for nearly two months. Its seven-day positivity rate is down to 4.6 percent Tuesday from 4.8 percent Monday. The county has confirmed 15,679 cases since the pandemic began.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 56 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, up from 46 Monday. Monday’s count was the lowest recorded since Aug. 7 when the number was 44.
Monroe County’s weekly cases per 100,000 are up to 121 from 92 last week and will be updated Wednesday. Last week was the first increase per 100,000 the county recorded since September.
The Monroe County Community School Corporation reported six COVID-19 cases Monday, two of which were from an MCCSC building. The other four are not connected to a classroom or office.
Indiana
The state recorded 1,996 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and 1,140 Monday. The state has reported 1,037,109 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Indiana Department of Health confirmed 59 COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, raising the total since the pandemic began to 16,414.
The state recorded 1,261hospitalizations Tuesday and 1,226 Monday.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate Monday is up to 8 percent from 7.9 percent Monday.
