Monroe County
Monroe County confirmed 10 new COVID-19 cases Monday and 26 Friday.
No new COVID-19 deaths were confirmed, but two deaths were added to the county’s total since the pandemic began – bringing it to 211.
The county has been in the yellow advisory for two months. Its seven-day positivity rate is up to 4.6 percent Monday from 4.4 percent Friday. The county has confirmed 15,880 cases since the pandemic began.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 43 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 52 Friday. Hospitalizations haven’t been as low as Monday since Aug. 1 when they were at 34.
Monroe County’s weekly cases per 100,000 are down to 113 from last week’s increase, which had the county at 121. This statistic is updated every Wednesday.
Indiana
The state recorded 1,276 new COVID-19 cases Monday, down from 2,807 Friday. The state has reported 1,055,571 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The Indiana Department of Health confirmed no new COVID-19 deaths, but added 17 to the total– which is 16,535.
The state recorded 1,376 hospitalizations Monday, up from 1,327 Friday.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate is 8.8 percent Monday, up from 8.2 percent Friday.
