The City of Bloomington reports three more employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees work with the city utilities, the police department and Bloomington Transit. No close contacts were identified among these employees’ co-workers or the general public.
“Close contact” is defined by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as someone who was within six feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from two days before illness onset. For those who are asymptomatic, two days prior to positive specimen collection until the time the patient is isolated.
The City has reported 127 positive COVID-19 test results since the start of the pandemic. One City worker has died from the virus.
