Indiana’s women’s basketball game at Rutgers Thursday night has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 results within the Scarlet Knights’ program.

It’s the second time this season the eighth-ranked Hoosiers have had a game called off due to an opponent being in COVID-19 protocols.

It’s up to the Big Ten to determine the fate of Thursday’s game.

Under the league’s revised COVID policy released Tuesday, if a school cannot field a team of at least seven scholarship players and one coach, the game will be rescheduled. If that is not possible, the game will be declared a no-contest. If a team cannot reasonably demonstrate why it can't meet those requirements, the game will be forfeited.

Indiana’s next game is scheduled for Jan. 2 against No. 6 Maryland at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The game tips off at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The Hoosiers are 10-2 overall this season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Terps are 10-3 and 2-0.
