Monroe County confirmed 56 new COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing its total since the pandemic began to 18,576. However, no new deaths were reported.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate rose to 10.7 percent. It was 6.9 percent Dec. 29.
The county remains in the orange advisory level with 270 cases per 100,000.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, hospitalizations decreased to 147, down from 157 Dec. 29. In total, the district currently has 75 ICU beds and just under 50 percent are occupied by COVID patients. Twelve beds are available.
Statewide
The state reported 4,091 new positive cases Monday, pushing the total since the pandemic began to 1,278,285. The state has reported a total of 18,433 deaths.
Hospitalizations rose to 3,164 Monday, which is the highest since December 2020. This is up from 3,071 Sunday.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate climbed to 18.2 percent, up from 14.9 percent Thursday.
